Day 11 - Grateful

Aaaahhhhh...the party was a success! So excited that everything turned out well and DD had a great time at her first birthday party! We ended up with far fewer guests than we expected, but it worked out well. Just the right size, really. DD seemed like such a big girl today; all dressed up in her pretty party dress and walking all over the place. She's been taking steps for a couple of weeks now, but something just clicked and today was really the day she officially became a walker. I can't believe how quickly her first year has gone by. She seems older than DS did at his first birthday. It's likely the whole second child thing; she has a big brother to keep up with, so she's walking, talking, and playing more than he did at 12 months. I am blessed with two truly amazing children. I am blessed in many ways! I'm going to treat myself to a little time off from writing tonight since I'm incredibly tired and looking forward to a relaxing evening on the couch...without the computer on my lap.
First, a little gratitude: I am grateful for my amazing daughter and my amazing son and my wonderful husband. I am grateful for friends and family to share my joys with. I am grateful for a comfortable and inviting home. I am grateful for sunshine, and for rain to make the flowers grow. I am grateful for creature comforts (my soft couch, my glass of Moscato, the bed I will soon curl up in). I am grateful to be a stay at home mother. I am grateful that I am raising my children. I am grateful for the opportunity to be exhausted because I put so much time, effort, and energy into making my daughter's first birthday party very special. I am grateful for wonderful photos that document wonderful memories. I am grateful for a healthy church and a bold pastor. I am grateful for my freedom to worship the Most High God publicly. I am grateful that tomorrow is a "church day." I am grateful that I have so much love in my life. I am grateful for rest. I am grateful for hard work paying off. I am grateful for my MIL and FIL. I am grateful for God's love and for His closeness and action in my life. I am grateful for my sisters. I am grateful for DH's brothers and their lovely wives. I am grateful for my writing. I am grateful for DH (yes, I know I already said that, but I very grateful for him). I am grateful that my ladybug cupcakes turned out so well. I am grateful that I enjoy my job. I have much to be grateful for! It feels good to be grateful!
